I finally got to see my dog! And they’re actually at the same house now.
For those who don’t know, my two dogs got adopted to two different homes cause it’s not easy to find a place which is willing to take in two (not to mention big) dogs. And now finally they’re together (which I bet is much to Spicy’s displeasure, but that’s another story)! The lady’s so sweet, she even went all the way to Castle Green to look for us cause she was so excited that our two dogs were now at her place. So, we got invited over to visit our dogs! I was so happy to see them ok. They were like my teddy bear which can actually move.
For days I’ve been planning what to wear. Black or white was the question.
Black: then Frost’s white fur would be able to be seen all over it.
White: Spicy’s black fur would become obvious.
So in the end I settle for black + white = grey.
My family rushed off from church for lunch (yummy roti prata!), my cousin kindly lent us her car and we headed off to see our beloved furry things.
They were really well taken care of, Spicy has grown so round that her head and legs
looked too small for her ‘bloated’ body. She is so over weight that the vet says she has to go on diet. Who said that obesity is a growing problem amongst humans? It’s affecting animals too, maybe the government is starting to plan some health movement for animals to maintain a healthy weight. So anyway, Auntie Kim eagerly ushered us into her house. And we brought the dogs
rawhide bones, which kept them too occupied to pose for pictures for us.
So most of the time my brother and I were busy trying to capture their attention away from the bones and to the cameras. Which obviously failed miserably, because most of the pictures have the dogs busy chewing on their bones while I smile for the camera. Boo. Bones so nice to eat meh? It’s just rawhide. Not like I know how rawhide tastes anyway, but it’s not like I really want to know how it tastes like. All I know is that you have to chew on it for a really long time, till it gets soft only then you can swallow it (learnt from observation of live specimens chewing on them).
Since the dogs would rather focus their attention on the bones rather than us (whom they’ve not seen in a long time, ungrateful things, tsk.), most of the pictures turn out like this:
and like this:
Ok, for Frost it was more like, since he refused to look up I got fed up and started disturbing him. Heh.
So they ate… and ate…
Depriving us the attention. So we poked, and tickled and dragged them about. But still, nothing could tear their devotion away from the rawhide bone.
Till we finally had to go. Sigh.
But Auntie Kim said that we could return anytime to visit the dogs again. I hope the time
wouldn’t take too long to come, and hopefully by then Spicy would have lost some weight, so that she’ll no longer look like a pig with lots of fur which has a dog’s head for a head anyway.
We dusted off our fur coats, thanked and said our goodbyes and headed towards the gate with the dogs tailing behind to say their goodbyes too.
If only we could have them home again, I kinda miss their fur being all over my clothes and I miss their howls which would greet us whenever we arrive home.
