20 01 2008

I have lots to update about.

The random basketball game my brother dragged me along to because he won free tickets to it.

My birthday.

And the visit to see my beloved dogs today.

And oh, my move to WordPress.

My brother hasn’t passed me the photos from the game, I’ve not uploaded the pictures from my birthday and the visit to see my dogs yet. So we’re left with my move to WordPress.

I hope the redirect-ing code worked. Reason why I moved to WordPress was because I wanted a host that would display more than one post on a page. Tried with Diaryland but failed miserably due to my pathetic HTML skills. Didn’t really want to go back to Blogpost again and Livejournal was a little inflexible although it is a pretty site. So I settled for WordPress and therefore… Welcome to my new blog!

I’ve moved all my posts from my old blogs to this blog. Yes, one post by one post from both tinylittleme.blogspot.com and sheerdreamz.diaryland.com. Altogether I have over 300 posts. But sadly some of the posts don’t look exactly like the posts from the old blogs because the videos I posted up on them didn’t appear up in this one. Boo. But oh well, I’ll fix it when I have the time (which is pretty unlikely). The most go back to the old blog to watch the videos lor.

Anyway I hope I’ll be satisfied with WordPress and not want to move again (choy).

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Remember to leave comments kay! (:

Remember to relink me too.

KIMCHI!

Kimchi instant noodles + kimchi = YUMS

Havent had that for a long time since I always have that occasionally in Shanghai when my parents go out and I would then have to prepare my own dinner. But the only thing that’s missing is my Shanghai Ah yi’s jiao zhi. I miss eating the jiao zhi she makes.

At the office

17 01 2008

Sometimes being in the office can be quite mundane. There are times where I don’t have much to do, so I’m left to stone at my desk. But most of the time I’ll find entertainment for myself like talking to people on MSN or surfing the net or something. But there are times that I’ll be piled up with work, the amount of work that I’m given to do kinda has this yo-yo effect. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Anyway, being free in the office somehow makes me realise I’m hungry. And that’s not something to worry about, why?

Because…

food at the office

There’s plenty of food at the office. How to not grow fat you tell me? There’s like food…

everywhere.

The new Macbook Air is effing nice! It’s so super thin! *drool* If only I had the cash…

what’s been going on

Everyone’s back in Singapore.

Belated Christmas exchange

We got our presents from Naph and Mel.

Mel made all of us take a photo with her tissue box cover she bought for the girls

imagine me smiling with it

and of course there’s the unwilling parties

The next day I went shooting with Mel! Apparently it’s some event to attract more female shooters to join the club. But it’s not a cheap sport to do. It costs over a thousand dollars, though I was told there’s a student package.

Shooting is really, really tiring. Maintaining the posture and all… TIRING. Oh, and I found out I can’t shoot for nuts. My shots went all over the place, only the first few shots go where their suppose to go. Bleah.

It’s real guns with real bullets ok!

There was tons of bullet shells on the floor. But apparently it’s illegal to possess one according to Singapore law (max 7 years jail), therefore no soveniors. ):

Goodbye 2007, I’ll miss you

2 01 2008

Happy New Year!

It’s a day late, but better late than never right?

My New Year’s eve was spent counting down at home with my grandma and watching the fireworks from the lift landing.

Then to my horror when I woke up in the morning to discover that my eyes had decided to swell up! Okay, just the area around my eyes since my eyes itself didn’t feel irritated or anything. But still! Anyway because of it, I never knew I could look so different with smaller eyes. Heh.

Anyway, cause I had already agreed to meet up with Angel, Hyun Jae and Timothy, I left the house with my disgusting swollen eyes.

Bumped into Toon Wen at Orchard while waiting for the three of them to appear. When they finally came, Hyun Jae said that I looked as if someone punched me in the eye, while Angel claims it doesn’t look swollen at all. Sigh.

Worse of all, I woke up with swollen eyes again this morning and had to take the day off (darn, no money earned today) to go see the doctor. Sigh, she said it’s caused by dryness and I had to apply more moisturiser blablabla. Sigh, I think my eyes look like fishballs. Eeewww… In fact I think it makes me look as if I have single eye lids. Haha.

2007 has been a whirlwind to me. Half of it was spent in Shanghai and the remaining half in Singapore. The half in Shanghai was spent fighting the urge to pull my hair out while doing IB (trying to get EE completed before the deadline, all the IAs and what not, the final exam…) then my move back to Singapore cause my visa expired, then getting a job, my parent’s sudden return cause of my dad’s illness. The year passed by so fast. I never thought I’d be back in Singapore again so soon. Now it’s time to gear myself up for university applications and stuff.

I miss being a student. And I have to admit, I miss Shanghai as well. Sigh. The main thing I miss about being at student is the school holidays. Working doesn’t give you such long holidays unless you go on some long leave (but that doesn’t come easy either, you’ll have to like work for years to accumulate leave if you want to go on leave for more than 14 days in most companies). And the main thing I miss about Shanghai? The four seasons, the cheap shopping and the cheap DVDs (:

2007 passed by too fast.

But I still thank God for everything.

Christmas 2007

27 12 2007

A bit late. But better late than never.

It was half day at the office cause it was Christmas eve. Although it was declared a half day, I had to stay on a couple of hours more to get some work done. Sigh. But we had a really good lunch at the office to celebrate the happy occasion!

The Big Boss of my department brought her daughter along. And her daughter kept talking about Pokemon. So it was Pokemon, Pokemon, Pokemon and more Pokemon for almost throughout the entire lunch (she’s just twelve so I forgive her, haha). I thought the Pokemon craze died a long time ago. Apparently not. She kept telling this colleague about Pokemon, and she went on to point to me saying “Ask her, ask her. She’s younger maybe she knows.” And the question was…

(drumroll)

“What does Pikachu evolve to?”

Faint.

But I’m proud to say I got it right. Pikachu evolves into Raichu! YAY!

After that she proceeded to ask “With the help of…?”

And I got it wrong cause I didn’t know the answer. Heh. Eh, at least I know Pikachu evolves into Raichu. It proves that I’m somewhat young. Alright, I feel old already.

After work, went home for a short nap before heading out again to meet up with Angel, Timothy and Hyun Jae. Counted down to Christmas at Suntec then headed home again. Should have taken some photos, don’t know why I brought the camera out for. Tsk.

Lunched with Angel then Hyun Jae popped by to collect his MP3 he left with me on Christmas eve (He sounded like he was panicking on the phone! So funny! Hahaha.) Watched Alvin and the Chipmunks with Angel before hunting for a present for the gift exchange at the Christmas gathering at Larry’s place.

Larry kept insisting that I must eat some rice. Apparently not eating rice or beehoon is like not eating at all to him, although I did eat a chicken wing and quite a number of otahs.

My first Christmas spent in Singapore since I came back from Shanghai. I miss the cold weather back in Shanghai (it adds on to the Christmas-sy atmosphere, heh.) but Christmas in Singapore isn’t so bad either. Orchard road was a pretty sight (:

Genting 2

Yay, the photos from my Fisheye 2 + Coloursplash flash are out!

Some are pretty nice. Some are rather random.

I quite like this pic, cause the lens is so wide you can see Hyun Jae smiling at the side. Haha.

Back from Genting. (:

I just realised that I look especially small in the picture. Even Hyun Jae who is way at the back, looks larger than me. Sheesshh…

Daddy Part 6

2 12 2007

My father is…

A picture speaks a thousand words. Enough said.

(For those who can’t tell from the picture, he is bald!)

Daddy Part 5

17 11 2007

I’m tired.

Ok, so Daddy’s fine so far. He’s currently going through chemo and radiotherapy. But God has been good and he doesn’t go through a many as the side effects of the treatment. Just that it really tires him out and he just sleeps a lot. That’s really good for a cancer patient (considering the fact that he isn’t losing all his hair!).

But unfortunately the treatment goes on for months and Daddy has stopped receiving his pay. So I’m currently the only person in the family with a job (although mine is only a temp one). But everything is ok, and I’m now the one paying the utility bills. Anything to help out right? I guess my parents are eating into their savings.

If only my brother and I were older, with a stable job. Then my dad wouldn’t have to go back to work again, and just stay home and rest. But reality is a cruel thing.

And because my parents are going to be in Singapore for quite some time for my dad to complete his treatment, we had to return the house in Shanghai to the Landlord (as it was my dad’s company that was paying the rent). DARN, I LIKED MY ROOM IN SHANGHAI! I’m going to miss it. Sniff, it was such a big room. ):

Oh, my uncle even got my dad this really furry hat thing that is suppose to have this negative ion effect which is suppose to help him recover faster! That furry thing cost over a hundred dollars (think it’s about 200 plus, can’t remember)! Like oh my $%$#!#%$^. I wanted to take a photo of him wearing it (it’s hilarious cause he looks like he is preparing for winter) but my dad wouldn’t allow me. Boo. Maybe I’ll try taking one when he’s asleep. Hehe.

Anyway, Jocelyn’s back in Singapore! Yay, someone to watch movies with and eat yummy Singapore food! Since everyone else is busy with their A Levels. Heh.
