Everyone seems to be reminiscing our high school days. So I felt partially obligated to post something about high school. Haha.

Last weekend I got to attend one of my ex-secondary school teacher’s wedding. Got to see some of the old GB girls from my batch. Reminded me of all the great memories I had while I was still a GB girl. Sigh. Oh, more pictures on Facebook. 

Oh, it’s also the first time I got invited to a wedding via Facebook. Haha. Facebook is oh-so-awesome huh? The wedding was rather sweet and Miss Tay (now officially Mrs Goh!) was as bubbly as ever. And I even have a video on Facebook for the ‘You may now kiss the bride’ moment. Hehe.

Didn’t get to catch up much though. And we were all really tired at the end of the day. Plus, my poor feet (sigh, heels) were covered in blisters. Hopefully we’ll get to meet up soon for a major catch-up session? Yes, girls? Heh.

Speaking of catch-up, our dearest Korean friend, Moo Hwan, suddenly appeared online on MSN today! It was so, so good to talking to him again. I thought my Korean friends disappeared! (H not counted)

Apparently they don’t use MSN much anymore, and Jinho and Jungbin has gone into the army! And soon Moo Hwan will be going in too. Like so fast! I thought they’d finish uni first. But then again, I’m not sure when do they finish.

So that explains the disappearance of (some) our Korean friends. The army!

Moo Hwan was struggling with the Facebook system – he couldn’t find his high school and college. Doh. But he pulled through and remarked that I should get Cyworld (because I was complaining WHY ONLY 6 PICTURES?! I was curious how he was doing now, what). Anyway, I did have Cyworld (which is all in Korean and my eyes almost popped out of their sockets and my brains almost exploded while I was setting it up) and thus that was where I got the pictures from. Hehe.

Moo Hwan was so amused because I could type Junnie’s name in Korean, I managed to get myself into Cyworld (although half the time I have no idea what I was clicking on that site) and er… guess that the whole chunk of Korean words on his ID was an address. Quoting from him, he said that I’m ‘an amazing girl’. Thank you, took you long enough to find out. Hehe. That guy is still the same. Not much about him has changed! His humor and the things he says, still very much still the same Moo Hwan I met at SSIS. Sigh, they’ve been missed! I hope he’ll drop by Singapore during the winter. He is hesitating because he claims that Singapore has ‘weird laws’, for example, no gum. Haha. That’s about the only weird law I can think of, nothing else right? Haha.

Now, all these makes me think the internet is the awesome-est invention EVER! See, Australia should so invest in unlimited internet access! It’s such a useful tool to keep in contact with people, especially those overseas and all. And especially when there’s this thing that I learnt during Geography called ‘Globalisation’. Distances between countries is somewhat ‘reduced’ as technology develops. People travel more, businesses go international and people are able to extend their social networks beyond their home country. So how do we keep in touch? THE INTERNET! Letters take forever to arrive, by the time the other party receives it, whatever was written would be old news. So yeah, email is awesome. Things like Facebook totally rocks.

I’m such a geek, seriously.

I’ve started working again! I’m tired due to the severe lack of sleep. You see, during the time I wasn’t working, I only sleep at about 2am and wake up at 1pm the next day. Yeah, I’m more or less nocturnal. I like it that way as everyone would be asleep, then there’ll be no one to bother me. Hehe.

So anyway, due to work. I haven’t had the time to blog, let alone finish Prison Break season 3! Sigh, work has taken over my life. And I’m not even a workaholic to start with. Sigh. N works at the same place as me now (but different departments), and she’s just as tired as I am. Plus, she seem to have more work to do than I do! Poor thing.

And not too many days ago, there was a cockroach in the restroom! OMG. I was using the toilet halfway, then suddenly the stupid cockroach ranscrambled into my cubicle. I FREAKED! I swallowed my scream and prayed like mad that it’ll just disappear. But it didn’t, and just crawled out of the cubicle. After a few seconds, it came right back in! So obviously I was freaking out in the cubicle, not knowing what to do. Anyway, in the end I managed to get out of the restroom alive, but with probably 5 years of my life scared away. Now, I’ll live 5 years lesser in this dying world.

I announced to the entire department that there was a cockroach in the restroom, and no one dared to use that restroom after that. The pest-control was called in, the cockroach was supposedly killed. But I still had a phobia, even up till today, I’ll pause outside the 3 cubicles for awhile contemplating which cubicle to use. The left one, the middle one or the one on the right?

Middle one, the cockroach is able to enter it via the left, the right and the front. The ones on the left and right, only one of the sides and the front. But I kinda thought to myself that cockroaches might prefer to go into the corner cubicles as there were corners where it might like to hide. See the thoughts that run through my head after one cockroach incident?? I think it has left a mental scar! I feel so paranoid every time I have to use the bathroom! Even at home when I use the bathroom, I jump when something in the bathroom moves. Some times it’s just the towel sliding off the pole or something. Yeah, I think I’m traumatised. I might need to see a Shrink. Eeks.

Everyone’s moving on with their studies, be it overseas or locally. And Skype is an awesome invention, so is the webcam! Whoever invented the webcam ought to win the Nobel prize! Or maybe whoever he/she is, already got it.

I think webcam-ing is fun. Hehe.

Joanne Loh left Singapore for Canada not too long ago too. So I dragged my lazy body out of bed to send her off at T3. Why does everybody have to leave so early in the morning? Sigh.

Met the Juniors who were there too. But Grace left so early for work. Oh well, I’ll be meeting them for dinner soon anyway. After that I headed home, rested for a while, then headed out to meet the Primary school classmates. Everyone was late but me! But it was go getting to catch up with them again. Some of them look so different from what I remember them while we were back in Rosyth! Planning to meet again, so hopefully we’ll see each other soon. Darn, should have taken a group picture.

Oh, and we can’t seem to remember the other half of our classmates! Our memories of who were our classmates was mostly confined to our half of the classroom. You see, we had 40 students in our class, and we were split into 4 columns(?) which consisted of 2 rows each. So each one of us had a ‘buddy’. Those of us who turned up (and those that we still had contact with) were of our side of the class (the 2 columns). We had trouble trying to remember who else made up the class. Must make someone bring a class photo to the gathering next time. Haha.

Celebrated mummy’s birthday 2 days ago.

This is a super outdated photo. But oh well. My mum turns another year older! Heh.

Haven’t met up with my clique in a long time. I think work has taken my life away! I hope I can start studying soon. Hopefully, I’ll start hearing responses from universities soon. My future seems so bleak at the moment. Boo.

Friends come and go. Yeah, that’s what people say. There the were the friends you made in kindergarden, primary and secondary schools. I still remember it was heart breaking to say good bye to my classmates when we graduated from K2 to move on to P1. Most of my friends were going to Parry Primary and I was going to Rosyth. Parry was just beside Rosyth at that time. Being too young, we never kept in touch.

The picking of Secondary schools, sad that everyone was going their separate ways. But a small group of us managed to keep somewhat in touch. I think Facebook is awesome because of that! If you consider poking each other ‘keeping in touch’. Heh. 

Now, we’re all grown up and ready to move on to University. Just that this time, instead of just moving on to different schools. We’re moving on to different countries. We’re sending each other off at the airport, soon before long we’ll be attending each other’s weddings, then attend each other’s children’s wedding and then *gasp* each other’s funerals (omg, choy choy choy). But, that’s life. Boo. Life kinda sucks that way (especially the funeral part).

Just 4 days ago, M left for the USA. And a month ago, A left for Australia.

Since M’s flight is uber early, we camped at T3 since the MRT wouldn’t have started running yet. We spent our time doing last minute touch-ups on M’s farewell gift. D brought his laptop along, but it didn’t exactly keep us occupied for long. T3 is awfully empty at night. It’s like your private playground something. Pretty serene. Haha. M and A are gone. And I’ve started working again. Same company! I’m totally not used to waking up early. And working back at the company makes me put on weight. Boo, they feed me well. Haven’t met up with the gang ever since M’s departure. Sigh. Should meet up soon people!

I’ve finally gotten my own laptop! At long last. Right now I’m looking for a good case to protect it from knocks and scratches (:

It was so exciting to peel open the box and examine its contents. I somehow can’t wait to get back to school, study and make new friends. Although the initial friend-making stage can be rather nerve-wreaking. I look forward to school holidays, something I don’t get while working. Haha.

Tested out Skype with the dad. He showed off that he can show people the whole room, just by simply unclipping his webcam off the moniter. Pfftt. Big deal… I still like my laptop. Hmpf.

And the brother and dad enjoyed playing with Photobooth. Haha.

Watched the Table Tennis match with the family. Singapore VS. China. But as expected Singapore lost, but we got a Silver medal. Finally something after oh-so-long! Finally, the Singapore flag is raised up at the Olympics during the anthem! Ah, the excitement.

Alright, think I should go bathe and sleep early soon. Heh.

Met up with my English teacher today, along with JT. It was awesome to see her again and chat about what nightmares IB gave us. And about our juniors as well as our other teachers. It’s been so long!

She’s returning to Singapore (for good) soon, so hopefully we’ll be able to meet up again along with the other teachers (:

However, that would also mean that SSIS is going to lose an awesome teacher.

Anyway, let me introduce you to my friend Florence.

Ok, Flo. I purposely made this picture of you smaller cause I think if I were to make it as big as the other pictures you’ll probably start complaining that your face looks big blablabla. Therefore, I have decided to save my ears the torture and minimized it. Wondering why suddenly a post on Florence? It’s because she made me do this and therefore.. taadaa! Here it is! I’m not so random that I’ll pick any one of my friends at random and then start writing about them on my blog okay.

I first got to know her in SSIS. She (and Jocelyn) was the first person I bumped into on my first day at school.

Come to think of it, that was about… four years ago! Wah, I’ve known you for four years already. So anyway, I can’t really remember how we eventually actually came up with the name EJF Tai Tai Club…

But they made me do crazy things like…

Unfortunately, after S4, Jocelyn went back to Singapore to do her ‘O’ Levels and then came back to Shanghai to study in Rego to the ‘A’ Levels while me and Flo slogged day and night doing IB.

But we’ll meet up occasionally to catch up.

Our carefree S4 days quickly came to an end and we were suddenly thrown into the IB world.

Suddenly there were a lot of deadlines to meet. The stress pushed us into a corner, and it made us do really crazy things.

I just saw Kat-tun on TV. I digress.

So anyway, during my time spent with Florence in Shanghai, and after taking like 928375 pictures (no, I didn’t literally go count how many) with her. I realise that she always have to have some part of her body sticking out. You know… like her tongue lah… hair lah… hand lah… Really. Scroll back up to analyse all the pictures. The only one with her smiling properly, is the first second picture which she took of herself.

Ok, moving on. As the stress mounted, we’ll always scream to get out and let loose.

Like I said before, stress makes us do crazy thing. And I remember we had this KTV craze and we would keep going there to sing and jump on the sofa going crazy and stuff (and watch Terry sing with all that ‘emotion‘).

DP1 quickly came to an end and we moved to our new school campus.

New campus and new teachers.

The DP2 year made us all into vampires. But Flo and I were the worst. We were always the last ones left online almost every night asking each other…

“So how? Finish doing _________ essay already not?”

Or we would just be on our computers watching some Japanese/Korean show or some random video on tudou. We were the ultimate, staying up till 4 or 5 am during days when we don’t have to wake up early the next day for school, then waking up the next afternoon at about 2 or 3 pm some times later.

Not long into our DP2 year, we finally got to take part in the Habitat for Humanity China.

Florence being her Qian Jing Xiao Jie self, managed to survive through it and returned back to Shanghai alive.

After many, many, many, MANY vampire nights. We finally finished the many, many essays we had to write and survived through the IB exams without trying to kill ourselves or pull out each other’s hair. Then it was time to do the mural.

And Flo went bonkers. With her partner in crime PH.

Soon after we finished the mural.. WE WENT TO JAPAN!

We talked about going there for forever. And she’s probably about the only person that’s willing to talk about Japan with me, as well as W-inds and Yamapi (: Haha.

Time quickly passed us by, we returned to Shanghai and we had to graduate.

Which is sad cause that meant that everyone was going to go our seperate ways, all over the world.

And the part of earth that Flo decided to go to was Melbourne where, she, being her thick skinned self decided to make me write this ‘ode’ to her.

Please let Jocelyn return back from Aussie sane and not drive her up the wall. Don’t burn down the house when you prepare dinner and please don’t give the Aussie people the impression that all Singaporeans are as thick skin as you. Remember to save money cause the three of us are suppose to go to Japan when we graduate from university. Must remember or else I’ll do something terrible to you. Haha.

Ok fishball. I took a long time to dig out all the old pictures. I went to look through all the CDs that I burnt eons ago just to find all these pictures ok. And I arranged all of them in running order ok. I spent the afternoon writing this and I’m too lazy to think of more things to add on. Anyway it’s so long already.
